A new day, but still not healthy

The Boy woke me at 5am asking for a tissue. I thought nothing of it. After all, he has a nasty cough, so it makes sense that his nose would start running and he’d asked in the night a couple of times too, though never was able to blow much out.  Well, less than a [...]

    When it rains, it pours?

Well, things were going smoothly. I use the past tense for a reason. Last week on Thursday, I went to work feeling a little like I was going to be coming down with something and within two hours I was full on sick! I felt like I had been hit by a bus! Of course, [...]

After St. Louis was the after party?

OK. Not really, but I’m running low on title creativity! My flight was…you guessed it…delayed, so I got back to Tulsa a little later than planned. Not a big deal.
Saturday I went to work– redoing the landscaping. I’m sorry, but I do not have a finished picture. Hmm… anyway… I planted more hostas and some [...]

    Fevers are no fun!

The Boy is home again with a fever (this time). It’s high. His cheeks are flush, and he is lethargic. I’m watching closely, but hoping this bug simply runs its course. He is a little stuffy, so maybe it’s a cold? For now, I will enjoy the extra snuggles and love I am getting from [...]

    Winter illnesses continue

The Boy went to see his doctor tonight, and he does have an ear infection in his right ear. His tube in the left ear is still functioning. (The right tube fell out in December.) He also has a sinus infection. Needless to say, I will be not be taking my trip Tuesday/Wednesday. I will [...]

    Improvement, I think?

The Boy only threw up once since getting out of bed this morning, so that is an improvement. He also drank water, breast milk and pedialyte pops without a problem. Not sure what set him off after nap time, but that was the one time.  He does have some mess coming out his bottom, but [...]

    Ode to Vomit

    OK.
    No time for an ode.
    The Boy is sick.
    Again.
    Lots of Vomit.
    Sleeping now for 45 minutes.
    Longest stretch since 430…
    …without vomit…
    He vomited at school…
    …all over the carpet…
    …and in the parking lot…
(almost in his seat, but I moved quickly!)
    …and again at home.
    More at home.
    A lot at home.
    Basically for four hours.
    Water = vomit
    Breast milk = vomit
I finally convinced him to [...]

    The Big 2-Year Doctor’s Visit

Well, The Boy is short and light according to the nurse’s measurements. Thirty-four inches and twenty-seven pounds. That’s the twenty-fifth and forty-fifth percentiles. He dropped and continues to drop, but whatever. The doctor is unconcerned, because he is still growing and meeting all of his developmental milestones., eating well, etc. I am unconcerned as well. [...]
