Well, things were going smoothly. I use the past tense for a reason. Last week on Thursday, I went to work feeling a little like I was going to be coming down with something and within two hours I was full on sick! I felt like I had been hit by a bus! Of course, being the good employee that I am, I went home. I felt a bit better Friday, but stayed home again to rest and try to get closer to 100%. The achy/pain was gone, but drainage and sinuses were still an issue.
Fast forward to Monday. The Boy’s school called around 9 to say that he didn’t have much of a fever, but was acting lethargic. I had told them that I had been sick, so if he started getting sick, call me. The Boy’s temp never got very high, but he did take a four hour nap. I figured he was good to go. He told me he felt great (the day before had said he didn’t feel well), so I sent him to school.
What happens?
Said boy vomits all over the carpet after nap time. When I arrived 30 minutes or so later, he still looked dazed. I took him home. He, of course, vomited in the car while we were on our street! Seriously? He couldn’t wait one more minute? I cleaned him up, got him settled, and then did my best to clean up his car seat. I am afraid of what it will smell like tomorrow in my car!
Today he appears fine again, so off to school again tomorrow.
Really though? It was nice to have the extra time to rest myself, even though I brought work home with me. I worked a few hours each day and spent the rest with The Boy.
I guess all this illness came at an opportune time. It keeps me from feeling too bad that Kevin’s visa is not ready. We had thought we might get to see him this week or next, but our vacation is now on hold. Again. Le sigh. Different year, same story. His season, however, will be over soon, so I’m focusing on that.
