Well, Kevin is in the air as I write this. His visa was cleared. He tells me that he was “randomly” screened at the airport. I think because he travels at the last minute to interesting places, he gets screened. The Boy spoke to him on the phone last night. I took video, because it was so dang cute! He would say “hi daddy!” followed by “Kevin. KEVIN. KEVIN!!!” Adorable!
Kevin has promised to blog more this season. Peer pressure. I’ll keep on him about it.
The transition is going better than I thought it would. The Boy is a bit clingly, but overall seems to be doing fine. He asks where daddy is (and his computer), but then answers himself with “daddy buh-bye.” He still hates leaving school and his friends behind, and in the mornings, he says good-bye to me just fine. On the other hand, at night, I’ve noticed that he keeps a hand on me most of the night, but he isn’t waking to nurse non-stop for the past two nights. We look at pictures of Kevin, and I am going to print out some new ones for the book my dad and Sheri gave him last year. (see below) Honestly, it is times like this– with big changes– that I am most grateful that we continue to nurse and co-sleep. It makes it a lot easier on The Boy, and I cherish the fleeting moments.
The house is insanely quiet though. I don’t feel overwhelmed with everything, so that is good too. Last night, I fell asleep at 8pm with The Boy. I woke up around 1030, got out of bed to do a few things, but decided that I was crazy and crawled back in to bed.
I found a friend to take me in for Thanksgiving (ha ha). It’s my LLL leader pal– Virginia. I’m really excited. We always have a good time with her family. (See 4th of July and Halloween 2008!)
Other than that, not much is happening. Another friend (Lila) is going to take The Boy Friday night so I can check out Paul’s bands at Cain’s before heading to another friend’s birthday bash! I’m really excited to be able to go, and I’m super greatful that Lila’s girls want to play with The Boy!
Saturday, I plan on taking The Boy to the football game. It’s the last regular season home game for TU, and he loves football, so it’s a match!
I’ll post when Kevin says he made it. After flying forever and a day, he has to drive for like three or four hours to his team’s city.
