I painted and painted and painted this past weekend. I was inspired by my friend Carrie’s painting. You see. She bought a new home, and unlike me, she painted before moving in. She’s an engineer and a bit brighter than I (obviously). Like me, however, she is a bit green, so when I started looking at paint, I asked what she used, which was a nice No-VOC (in the can) paint. However, I do know that No- VOC (or low VOC) in the can does not equate no or low VOC after coloring, and the coloring add a significant amount of VOC, so I kept my eyes open for alternatives.
When I started looking around Tulsa for that same paint, I ran across this stuff (sold at Home Depot). Normally, I am a Lowes girl, but The FreshAire Choice had me hopping in the car on the Fourth of July headed towards Home Depot (who will also take back your compact florescent bulbs for proper disposal, btw)! The FreshAire Choice not only is No-VOC in the can, but the additive color is also No-VOC. I used it. I loved it, and I will use it again.
Some people might not like the 65 colors or so they offer, but I found just what I needed for The Boy’s room, and I found what I want to do the living room in. All that is left is the bedroom, but I didn’t want to get too far ahead of myself. LOL! Also, the price was a bit steep, but had I done it right the first time, we could have done his whole room with one gallon.
