I have been on a mission– a painting mission. Before I get to that, let me catch you up on my week.Monday afternoon, I took off to go to The Boy’s doctor appointment with Dr. Hawkins (ENT). It was time to get his ears checked, and everything with his ears look good. However, we brought up some other issues to the doctor. The Boy has struggled with sleep apnea since he was a very young baby. He would just stop breathing, but he always starts back up again. However, as he gets older, he wakes up screaming from it, and he definitely has to breath through his mouth most of the night. It’s not fun for any of us.Dr. Hawkins asked us a bunch of questions, and we asked him a bunch.
His thought was that The Boy has large adenoids. His tonsils look normal, but he thought the adnoids would be the culprits and ordered a soft-tissue x-ray. His nurse called a couple of days later and confirmed. Needless to say, Kevin and I have spent the past few (or more) days trying to figure out what to do.The options basically are: a) do the surgery now; b) wait and see if he outgrows the problem and can tolerate the adenoids/apnea until he is older; or c) wait and see if he needs tubes again and have the adenoids out then. B is basically not an option, because it could take until he is a teenager, and if he can’t sleep through the night for 13 years… well, you figure how tired he (and we) will be by then! We think we’ve made up our minds, but we want to talk to the doctor again first.Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I had busy days at work (Leadership Development plus a bunch of other stuff). However, Wednesday the air conditioner went out at work! Thursday morning, the LDP class sucked it up and continued on, but by noon, I’d had enough. I called it quits, and 30 minutes later, the building shut down for the rest of the day. I went home and did this…
… sorry. No after photo yet, because I only have the dining table area completed. When the entire living room is done, I will take another picture. After all of that, came this.
My friends that take The Boy on Thursday nights while Kevin is out of the country called and asked if we could watch their daughter, A, while they went to a dance class. I immediate said yes. They do so much for us (hello! Ice storm!!!), and A and The Boy play well together. We had fun, but boy am I glad not to have two toddlers. I don’t know how Courtney and Rose, etc do it. YIKES! One is sounding good. LOL!More to come…
